Ceramic products for metrology and vibration.
In StarCeram® Si (silicon-infiltrated silicon carbide) KYOCERA Fineceramics Precision GmbH has a material that opens the door to completely new concepts and solutions. Since the ceramic material does not shrink during sintering, it is possible to create small structures with high aspect ratios using this material. StarCeram® Si furthermore has some special properties: stiffness, low thermal expansion with high thermal conductivity, low weight and high strength. These properties make it possible to manufacture components characterized by maximum precision of down to 1 mm structure sizes with a great degree of stability and durability. We can produce very thin lightweight structures with an extremely high degree of strength and steadiness with our ceramic materials. With our engineers, we develop innovative concepts for measuring and vibration equipment components, such as for spindles, beams, structural parts, tables, stages, fixtures and many other ceramic parts for metrology and vibration equipment. Large-scale components, which can usually only be created as assemblies, are available from KYOCERA Fineceramics Precision GmbH as monolithic parts in dimensions of up to 1000 mm x 1000 mm x 650 mm.
